What every installation includes

A complete EV charger install — not just the charger

Every job starts with an assessment and ends with a tested, code-compliant circuit. We handle all of the electrical work so your charger works correctly from day one.

Panel Assessment

We review your existing panel capacity before any work begins. No surprises on installation day — you will know exactly what your panel can support.

🔌

Dedicated 240V Circuit

A properly sized dedicated circuit run from your panel to the charger location. Sized for your charger's amperage — typically 50A or 60A breaker for a 40A or 48A charger.

Conduit Routing

Conduit planned and run cleanly through your garage or along exterior walls. We route it properly — not just the fastest way, but the right way.

Load Calculation

We verify your home's total electrical load can safely support the new circuit. If an upgrade is needed, we will tell you before touching anything.

Charger Mounting

Charger mounted securely at the correct height for your vehicle and daily use. Wall-mounted for a clean, permanent result.

Testing & Handoff

We test the full installation before we leave and walk you through how your charger works — including scheduling and any app setup guidance.

Charger types

Tesla, Level 2, and NEMA 14-50 Installations

We install the full range of home EV charging equipment — from a simple outlet to a hard-wired 48A Level 2 charger. Whether you drive a Tesla, a Ford F-150 Lightning, a Rivian, or any other EV, we have installed chargers for it.

For most drivers, a hard-wired Level 2 charger is the best long-term choice. It charges faster than a NEMA 14-50 outlet, does not rely on a plug connection, and sits cleanly on the wall. We can advise you on the right option for your specific vehicle and driving pattern.

Charger types we install

Tesla Wall Connector (all generations)
Level 2 hard-wired chargers — 32A, 40A, 48A
NEMA 14-50 outlets for portable chargers
Commercial-grade multi-unit EV setups
Panel upgrades when needed for EV readiness

Works with: Tesla, Ford, Rivian, Hyundai, GM, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Kia, and all other major EV brands.

Planning estimate for home charging. Level 1 remains based on approximately 1.4 kW from a standard 120V outlet. Rates on 30A-60A Level 2 circuits use a 15% field-use allowance, with a practical 10-20% range below ideal conditions. Actual speed varies by trim, battery temperature, state of charge, charger, and panel capacity. Power On Solutions confirms the final circuit with an on-site load calculation. Common questions

EV charger installation FAQ

Do I need a panel upgrade before installing an EV charger?
Not always. We assess your existing panel capacity as part of every installation. Many homes have available capacity for a Level 2 charger without a full panel upgrade. If your panel is at or near capacity, we will explain your options clearly — and quote any panel work separately — before anything begins.
Can you install EV chargers for Tesla and other brands?
Yes. We install Tesla Wall Connectors as well as Level 2 chargers compatible with Ford, Rivian, Hyundai, GM, BMW, Mercedes, Kia, Volvo, and every other major EV brand. We also install NEMA 14-50 outlets for drivers who prefer to use a portable charger from any manufacturer.
How long does EV charger installation take?
Most residential EV charger installations are completed in a single visit — typically two to four hours depending on panel distance, conduit run length, and whether any panel work is needed. We will give you a realistic time estimate before the job begins so you can plan around it.
What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?
Level 1 charging plugs into a standard 120V outlet and adds roughly three to five miles of range per hour. Level 2 uses a dedicated 240V circuit and adds twenty to thirty miles per hour depending on your vehicle and charger amperage. For most drivers, Level 1 is too slow for daily use — Level 2 is the practical standard for home charging.
Do you serve Palm Desert and nearby Coachella Valley cities?
Yes. We serve Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta, Indio, Indian Wells, Desert Hot Springs, Coachella, Bermuda Dunes, Thousand Palms, and surrounding Coachella Valley communities.
